John Whyte is a North Vancouver-based lawyer with a keen interest in music
John graduated from the University of Toronto Law School in 1991 and was called to the B.C. Bar in 1992. He is a senior partner of long-time North Vancouver law firm Lakes, Whyte LLP, and heads the civil litigation department of the firm. He has represented his clients at all levels of court in B.C.
John has served as the president of the North Shore Multicultural Society, the North Vancouver-Lonsdale Liberal Riding Association, and the North Shore Bar Association, and more recently as a director of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.
In his musical life he is a trombonist with several community big bands. His passion project is Jazzillion, a Vancouver-based jazz sextet and creative collective for which he writes much of the original music and which performs regularly.
